Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Lettah Louise Thompson 94, of Slater, passed away August 3, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Monday August 7, at Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman, Iowa. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Sunday, August 6, at Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman. Burial will be in the Slater Cemetery.

Louise Thompson was born March 12, 1923 in Red Key, Indiana to Lewis and Sylvia Wandrey, Louise and her twin sister were the youngest of seven girls. Louise was united in marriage to Kenneth Thompson on June 17, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. After Kenneth got out of the Army Air Corps they settled in Iowa and began farming in the Alleman and Slater area. Louise was very involved in the farming operations especially during the harvest season. Louise loved to sing, write letters and laugh and all who knew her experienced these fine qualities.

Louise is survived by her three children, Karon Lacey of Elkhart, Kent (Barb) Thompson of Slater, Louella (Steve) Larson of Slater; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also left are her sister in-law, Janice (Gene) Cookston and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; son in-law, Mike Lacey Jr. and her six sisters and their spouses.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be addressed to Salem United Church of Christ, P O Box 9, Alleman, Iowa, 50007 or the charity of your choice.
