Elza Poole was born in Randolph County, Indiana Jan. 13, 1839 and died in Nevada, Iowa July 4, 1912 being 73 years, 6 months and 21 days of age. Deceased moved to Story county when but a young man where he was united in marriage to Miss Nancy Jackson, Dec. 22, 1859. To this union was born 8 children, 6 sons and 3 daughters, two sons and one daughter having preceded the father in death. Mr. Poole leaves to mourn their loss a wife, two brothers, one sister and five children. He united with the M. E. church some 43 years ago and later united with the Friend's church. He was [---]y respected by all who knew him.

The funeral services were held at [unable to read] Saturday at the Christian [---] Rev. [----] assisting.
