Marybeth Peake, age 71 of Gallatin, passed away Friday September 30, 2016. Funeral Mass will be Thursday October 13th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with The Most Reverend David R. Choby, Bishop of Nashville and The Reverend Stephen Gideon as Celebrant.
Mrs. Peake was born December 27, 1944 in Ames, IA, to the late Gordon Irving and Beatrice Weigel Irving. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Janice Stevans. She is survived by husband of 28 years, Laurence Peake of Gallatin; sons, Christopher Duhan (Angela) of Holliday, TX and Jeffrey Duhan (Felicity) of Florida; Monica Bowling (Mark) of Louisville, KY; step daughters, Janet Sciecinski (Jim) of Boyertown, PA and Carol Hicks (Sam) of Newport News, VA; brother, Max Irving (Janice) of Albuquerque, NM; sister Roberta Graham of Sun Lakes, AZ; 14 grandchildren; and 8 step grandchildren.
Mrs. Peake graduated with a BBA from Texas Tech University. She was a member of the Business Honor Society and the Psychology Honor Society. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, and reading. She was involved in the Adult Reading Program. She recorded books on tape for the blind and had her own radio program called Museum Tours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Middle Tennessee ALS Foundation. Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
