Donna Ann (Runge) Richardson, 79 of Cambridge, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Bethany Manor in Story City.

Donna was born on Sunday, August 1, 1937, to William and Hulda (Lawrenz) Runge on the family farm in Buckeye, Iowa. Donna graduated from Radcliffe High School at the age of 16 in 1954.

While living in Mason City, she met Walter “Pete” Peters. They were married on June 19, 1955. Donna and Pete adopted Russ and Jeff. Pete was in a fatal accident at work and died July 30, 1967.

Jewell and Donna Richardson were married April 25, 1969, and later adopted a daughter, Sara. Jewell and Donna celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary last month.

Donna was a homemaker, housewife and mom not only to her kids but also to her nieces and nephews and to many of the neighborhood kids too.

Donna leaves behind her husband, Jewell; her sons: Russ (Donna) and Jeff; her daughter, Sara (Eric); her granddaughter Madi (Anthony); her grandson, Ryan and her sister, Ellen along with many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; her brothers: Gus and Herb; her sister-in-law, Lynn and her brother-in-law, Chester.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 26, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at the Nevada First United Methodist Church in Nevada with Pastor Chris Waddle officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. at the Buckeye Cemetery near Buckeye.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nevada First United Methodist Women.
