McCALLSBURG

Death of Mrs. Sampson.

Mrs. Engeborg Regina Sampson died at her home in west McCallsburg, November 6th, about 12 o'clock noon. She suffered intensely but always patiently for nearly a month and death came as a welcome relief; Mrs. Sampson was born in Stavanger, Norway, October 4th, 1852. In 1871 she came to America, and in 1878 she married Mr. Sam Sampson in Clinton county, Iowa. To this union were born seven children of whom six survive her. The children were Mrs. Henry Michaelson, northeast of here; Misses Louisa and Ristina, Sam, Herman and Carl, who are unmarried. Esther who was married to Mr. Lars Olson died Sept. 7th last. She also leaves two sisters and one brother, all in this country: Mrs. Anna Johson, Perly, Minn.; Mrs. Marie Ericson, north of town here and H. Thompson of Eagle Grove. They are all expected to come to the funeral which is to take place from Liberty church Saturday at 11 o'clock, Rev. Smedal officiating. The whole community extend their deep heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family that have been so sorely tried lately. Mrs. Sampson was a truly good wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all.
