OBITUARY

Funeral of G. W. Shugart.

The funeral of the late George W. Shugart was conducted from the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon, Rev. R. E. Shaw of the Methodist church officiating in the absence of the Presbyterian pastor. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends; the floral offerings were numerous and beautiful, and the services were wholly appropriate to the occasion. All of the children of the deceased were present excepting his sons Philip and Will whose attendance was impracticable. There were also present his brother Eli from Council Bluffs and nephews, Thos. Shugart of the same city and Judson Shugart of Princeton, Illinois Other members of the family from out of town were John Shugart and family from Ames, including his son Walter from Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Brunson from Des Moines, and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Edgerton of Clinton. Dan McCarthy of Ames was one of the old-time friends who came over from Ames to the funeral. The interment was in the Nevada cemetery.
