OBITUARY

Hannah J. Hoffstott

Hannah J. Hoffstatt died of apoplexy Friday morning Nov. 5th, 1915 at the home of her niece, Mrs. C. B. Carr near Greenford, Mahoning county, Ohio. Deceased was born April 13th, 1834, in Ohio, where she resided until 1880 when she went to Iowa with the family of her sister, Mrs. T. M. Ashford with whom she continued to reside till Nov. 1908 when she went to Minnesota to make her home with her nephew the late C. B. Ashford and her niece, Mrs. C. R. Carr. Last March she removed with the Carr family to Ohio and lived with them until her death. Four week previous to her death she visited the home of birth and the church and cemetery of Longs Run Presbyterian church at Calcutta where she had spent her early life and which she had not seen for thirty five years. The remains were interred in the cemetery Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. Hoffman at the residence of C. R. Carr previous to their departure to Calcutta. She is survived by her nephew, W. F. Ashford of Washington, D. C. and two nieces Mary M. Carr of Washingtonville, Ohio and Margaret Schreiber of Chicago.
