DIED EN ROUTE.
Leaves Nevada and Dies in Sacramento
E.C. Hodges, a young married man of Iowa Falls, spent Thursday night last week at the Ira Allen home in this city and left Friday morning for California his wife and little child accompanying him. He was ill from consumption, and the trip was one urged by the condition of his health. The party got as far as Sacramento, where he died on Wednesday morning. His wife and child will return at once with his body, which is presumed will be buried at Iowa Falls. Mr. Hodges was the agent of the Northwestern railroad at Iowa Falls and had been there for two years, having previously been in the employ of that company at other places. His parents, who had been residing with him there, have recently come here to keep house for the Blackman family. Mr. Hodges senior being a nephew of the late Mrs. Blackman.

The body of the late E. C. Hodges of Iowa Falls in charge of his wife with her little child arrived here early this morning on the way back from California whither Mr. Hodges and his family started from here ten days ago. Mr. Fred Cook and wife of Iowa Falls met Mrs. Hodges at Omaha on behalf of the Masons of Iowa Falls and accompanied her on the part of her homeward journey. The party went from here this morning to Iowa Falls where the funeral will be held. Mr. and Mrs. Hodges senior also joined the sad party here and will attend the funeral of their son.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mr. and Mrs. Hodges senior" were Allen T. Hodges and Mary V. Remington. They are living in the Winfield Blackman home in the 1910 Nevada, Story County, Iowa census as cousins of the Blackmans.
