OBITUARY
Death of Mrs. John Hague
The remains of Mrs. John Hague of Alliance, Nebraska, arrived about two o'clock this morning at the home of Mrs. Absolom Smay in Nevada, having been brought over the Northwestern from Iowa City, where death had occurred yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Hague had been a sufferer for a long time and it was to assist in the care of her that her mother-in-law, Mrs. Alonzo Hague, came on from Alliance, as was noted in these columns Monday. Iowa City was reached on Thursday, and medical and surgical skill consulted, but the malady was found to be beyond human power to remedy, and death ended suffering Tuesday afternoon, as before stated. The funeral is conducted from the Lutheran church this afternoon by Rev. J. L. Simon, and interment will be in the Alonzo Hague lot of the Nevada cemetery. A daughter eight years old is left motherless. Mrs. Hague has visited her husband's relatives in Nevada in years past and won high regard from those who made her acquaintance. The bereaved friends have much sympathy in their sorrow.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: As stated, the mother-in-law of Carrie (Rodgers) Hague made arrangements for Carrie's burial. The mother-in-law was Anna Elizabeth (Smay) Hague, daughter of Absolom Daniel Smay and Mary Ann Sowers. Since Anna (Smay) Hague no longer lived in Nevada, the body was delivered to her mother's home, "Mrs. Absolom Smay."
