From Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home & Crematory obituary, Nevada and Maxwell, Story County, Iowa:

Belva Lorene McHone, 90, of Ankeny, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Belva was born August 15, 1926, in Ankeny, the daughter of Dan and Wilda (Law) Conkel. She graduated from White Oak School in 1943 and was united in marriage to Harold McHone on January 19, 1945, at the White Oak Church. During her 20’s she was led to faith in Christ through Harold. Belva was a member of the White Oak Church, serving as organist and Sunday School teacher. She also worked for the DOT in Ames. Her interests included vacationing in Branson, MO and bowling in a league with Harold, playing the organ, baking for her family, attending her sons’ school activities, and spoiling her grandchildren. But most of all, she loved sharing with others the assurance of eternal life for all who believe in Christ.

Belva is survived by her three sons: Ronald (Irene) McHone of Cambridge, Roger (Diane) McHone of Fairfield, and Steven (Deborah) McHone of New Brighton, MN; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. Belva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grand-daughter, Kimberly; and two sisters: Lavonne Brown and Marge McCauley.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 2 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 3 at White Oak Church near Elkhart (14747 White Oak Drive) with burial following at White Oak Cemetery.
