OBITUARY

Hosea Atwood

Mr. Hosea Atwood, living south of Collins, died Tuesday evening quite suddenly of heart disease, his funeral was held Thursday and burial was at Collins. He had visited Collins on Saturday and made preparations to move there from his farm. His age was about sixty-eight years. He was in the South when the Civil War broke out, and was conscripted; but he managed to escape, came North, joined the Union army, served till the close of the war, and came out a first lieutenant. He was conspicuous at Grand Army reunions was well-known and will be much missed. He leaves a family.
