Samuel Morton Allen, died Friday, September 4, at his home near Elwell, and his funeral was conducted Sunday in the United Evangelical church at Elwell by Rev. G. W. Mullen, assisted by Rev. Killoren of Iowa Center, and interment was at Center Grove. Mr. Allen was a native of Illinois and had resided where he died for 51 years. A very large attendance at his funeral attested respect and regard for the departed pioneer settler, the pillar of the church, and the good citizen.
