Death of Tosten Michaelson

Tosten Michaelson, elder brother of Supervisor J. A. Michaelson and himself in earlier years a resident of this county, died Tuesday September 1 at the home in Hamilton county northwest of Story City. He was 57 years of age and a native of Norway. He came to this country and county in 1872 and resided in Milford and Howard township until 1881 when he removed to Hamilton county where he has since resided. He married, in 1882, Martha, daughter of Knudt Peterson of Milford township, and he leaves his wife and three children. His only other near relative in this country is his brother, Supervisor Michaelson; but he is also survived by his mother, now ninety years of age, three other brothers and two sisters all at or near the old home in Norway. His funeral is held today at the neighborhood church northwest of Story City.
