From Nevada Representative August 14, 1908

The burial service of the late Mrs. Wm. V. Kyle, who died August 9th at her home in Grant township was conducted Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Minchin of Ames at the cemetery in Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Kyle came to Story county in 1864. Mr. Kyle and three of their nine children passed on before the mother. The remaining children and a host of friends mourn a good woman.

OBITUARY

Jeanette McArthur Kyle

Jeanette McArthur was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 1st, 1829 and died at her home in Story county, Iowa, August 9th, 1908, aged 79 years, 5 months and 8 days. At the age of fourteen she moved withher parents to Rock county, Wisconsin where they resided for some time. On January 3, 1853, she was married to William V. Kyle. Eight children blessed this union, three of the children and her husband preceding her to the spirit land however. In 1864 the Kyle family moved to Story county, Iowa, making the trip in an imigrant wagon and settled on the farm where she continued to reside up to the time of her departure from this world. She was identified with the county's early history and lived a long life of usefulness in this community. She leaves her son John Kyle and daughters Nan and Magaret and Mrs. Ward Dailey, and Mrs. Chas. Kingsbury, all of whom reside in this vicinity Also she leaves ten grandsons and a host of friends and neighbors to mourn her loss.
