OBITUARY
George Brown Hurled to Death by Corn Sheller
George Brown, a prominent and highly respected farmer living near Gilbert was caught Wednesday in the wheel of a corn sheller thrown into the machinery and so injured that he died five hours later.
He had a small gasoline engine mounted on trucks and driving a cornsheller with which he was shelling his corn crop. The machine not running quite right he threw the belt off at the sheller, and its rapid motion caused it to be coiled up and tangled in the wheel of the engine. Mr. Brown sought to jerk the belt loose, his clothing caught and the accident resulted. He sustained seven distinct fractures, one of which was of the skull at the base of the brain. He had gleams only of consciousness after he was injured. The funeral occurs today. Mr. Brown leaves a large family and his death is deeply regretted.
