Janet Lea Kleinwolterink
March 10, 1962 - February 25, 2017

Jan Kleinwolterink, age 54, of Ames, IA, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Stevens Memorial Chapel (607 28th St., Ames, IA 50010). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Christian Reformed Church, and interment will follow services in the Gilbert Cemetery.

Jan was born on March 10, 1962 in Sheldon, IA., the daughter of Alvin and Florence (Colshan) Mastbergen. She graduated from Melvin High School in 1980, and earned her Associates degree from DMACC in Boone in 1983. She married the love of her life Paul Kleinwolterink on January 8, 1982. The couple was blessed with 4 children. Janet worked for the Gilbert Schools for 16 years, spending the last 10 years as a Secretary for the Gilbert Middle School. Jan had compassion for the students at Gilbert Middle School and enjoyed working with them.

Jan enjoyed reading, visiting her children in Ames and Colorado, and quiet Friday nights at home with Paul. Her passion was her family and she supported them in all of their activities. She was a loving and compassionate mother who will be remembered by those who knew her for her punctuality and sense of humor.

Survivors include her husband; Paul, children; Megan (Oscar) Saldana and his son Oscar Jr., Cody (Rachel), Tyler, and Dylan, sisters; Sherry and Sue, brothers; John, and Alan (Charlotte), and many nieces and nephews.

Jan was preceded by her parents; Alvin and Florence, nephew; CJ Egdorf.
