Barnet Brouhard of Colo died at his home there on Monday as the result of a fall that he had upon the sidewalk a week or ten days before. He was about sixty years of age and a retired farmer. He was well known through the eastern part of the county and highly respected.

Death of B. Brouhard

About two weeks ago Barnet Brouhard Jr. fell on the icy cement crossing while on his way home from up town and received injuries from which he died Monday noon February 17. The funeral took place February 19th. The services were conducted by Rev. J. B. Boreman assisted by Rev. Ramige, in the M. E. church. Barnet Brouhard was born in Indiana in 1848, came to Story county, Iowa, with his parents when a child and was married to Martha Laird in 1871. They lived on the farm until six years ago, when they moved to town. He leaves his wife, three sons, three daughters and four brothers, besides a host of friends. He was a strong church member and a member of the Masonic fraternity. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.
