From Nevada Representative September 13, 1910 (page 5)

O. B. Chapin, an aged gentleman who with Mrs. Chapin spent two or three months s the Iowa Sanitarium during the spring and summer, died Saturday at his home in Union. He was a leading citizen of Union, noted for benevolence as well as for business, and all of the business houses in Union are closed today in token of general sorrow for his loss. He and Mrs. Chapin are old friends of the A. English family, and often visited in Nevada before coming here for the benefit of Mr. Chapin's health.

From Nevada Representative September 16, 1910 (page 5)

Mr. and Mrs. A. English returned Wednesday per auto from attending on Tuesday at Union the funeral of their old friend, Hon. O. B. Chapin. Mr. Chapin, whom many Nevada people met during his several visits to the English family in past years and his sojourn to the Sanitarium last summer, was Union's leading citizen, prominent there as a business man, banker, former legislator and philanthropist. The funeral, conducted by local clergymen, and held on the lawn of the Chapin residence, was the largest ever held in the town. It called together not only the townspeople, but families of the countryside for eight miles around. One of Mr. Chapin's recent beneficencies had been the gift of $4000 toward the construction of the fine High school building now being erected, and Mrs. Chapin had given $1000 toward improvement of the school library. In recognition of these special benevolences and of general worth, eighty of the high school pupils headed by superintendent L. B. Carlisle led the cortege to the cemetery, and at the gates opened file and scattered flowers as the procession passed through. Mr. and Mrs. English report the services as deeply appreciative and impressive.
