A Sad Disappointment

Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Peterman had last week a most pitiful disappointment, losing by death on Saturday a baby boy that they had adopted from the Iowa Children's Home in Des Moines on Thursday. For some time they had wished to get such a baby and on Thursday they were in Des Moines and brought home with greatest delight a most promising boy that would have been two months old on the 20th of this month. The child seemed entirely well at that time but soon after the reached home he appeared to be ailing and cholera infantum developed. Doctors and a nurse were summoned but their best efforts were unavailing and the little life slipped away from them. Instead of baby play things and a cab, Mr. and Mrs. Peterman found that they had us for little casket and a lot in the cemetery. So little Donald Peterman, as they had called him ws laid to rest, the funeral being conducted from the Peterman home Sunday afternoon by Rev. Shoemaker. The sympathy felt for Mr. and Mrs. Peterman in their loss has been great and for kindnesses experienced they wish to make most grateful acknowledgement.
