Elaine F. Weidlein, 68, of Fort Dodge, passed away on January 3, 2017 at her home. A memorial service honoring Elaine’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Holly Scherff officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior the service.

Elaine Fae Gandrup was born on December 21, 1948 to Harry & Norma (Knutson) Gandrup in Ames, Iowa. Elaine graduated from Nevada High School and attended Iowa State and Iowa Central Community College. Elaine worked for the State of Iowa Work Force Development lending a helping hand to those in need. She was naturally maternal and always kind to everyone who crossed her path. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, politics, and traveling with her partner of 21 years, Lisa. She was a member of Human Needs Community and regularly volunteered as payee for mentally challenged individuals. She will be lovingly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her life partner, Lisa Neet of Fort Dodge; children Cathy (Kevin) Lambert of Grand Saline, Texas, Billy Weidlein of Story City, Iowa and Wendy Weidlein of Webster City, Iowa; one sister, Debbie Gandrup of Fort Dodge, Iowa; her mother, Norma Gandrup of Ames, Iowa; and father of her children Chuck Weidlein of Webster City, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Vickie (Mike) Davis and Valerie (Reggie Cartee) Neet; brother-in-law, Allen (ViVi) Neet; nieces, Jamie, Naomi & Cory; nephews, Justin and Nathan as well as several great-nieces & nephews.

Elaine is preceded in death by her father, Harry Gandrup and first husband & father of Cathy, Chuck Graham.
