Death of Roland Druggist

J. H. Eide, of Roland, died suddenly Friday morning at his home in that town. He had not been rugged since a severe illness last winter, yet had attended to business daily at his drug store. Friday morning he arose about as usual but soon complained of oppression in breathing, and in a few moments was gone. His death is charged to heart disease. His age was about fifty years. His funeral was held on Monday at the Bergen church. He was a European by birth, and had traveled extensively before coming to America. Previous to his establishment in business at Roland he was for several years a pharmacist in the drug store of Speers & Wray in Nevada, and is remembered here as a man of much intelligence and decided opinions. After going to Roland he married the sister of Mrs. Jonas Duea*, who with their young sons Alexander and Victor survives him.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. Jonas Duea" was Henryetta (Henryson/Henrikson) Duea, the second wife of Jonas Duea. Her sister was Christine Pauline Henrikson who married John Henry Eide (listed on their marriage record as J. H. Eide Von Wolf) on 9 November 1895 in Roland, Story County, Iowa.
