Clita Marie McHone, 94, of Cambridge, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada.

Clita was born May 18, 1922 in Boone County, Iowa the daughter of John and Irene (Cooper) Ferguson. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1941 and was united in marriage to Earl McHone on June 22, 1941 in Missouri. Clita worked for Hach Chemical for 23 years, retiring in 1990 and for the Cambridge Post Office and the Cambridge Leader. She was a member of the Cambridge United Methodist Church and the Dorcas Society. Clita enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren along with gardening, cleaning and birdwatching.

Clita is survived by her sons: David (Char) McHone of Maxwell and Dale (Gwen) McHone of Ankeny; her sister, Maxine French of Fairfield and four grandchildren: Mike (Kammy) McHone, Teri (Larry) Ellis, Sheena (Lanny) Zieman and Katie McHone; six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters: Lucille Thompson-Bergeman, Charlotte Bennett Louise Hill-Blanchard and Barb Tiffany and a brother, Paul Ferguson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 30 at the Cambridge United Methodist Church in Cambridge. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church or Rolling Green Village.
