Bonny Kay Callahan was born October 19, 1933 to Clarence U. and William O. (Billy) Bruce in Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri. Bonny and Raymond A. Callahan were married June 16, 1956 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Ames.

Bonny was an active member of St. Cecilia Parish, a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas where she was Grand Regent, a member of St. Mary's Circle, and also a member of Our Lady's Rosary Makers International which distributed the rosaries she made freely to foreign missions. Bonny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Bonny died at 83 years of age on January 19, 2017 at Green Hills Health Care Center after a long illness.

Bonny is survived by her husband, Raymond A. Callahan of Ames; her son, John R. Callahan of Tacoma, Wash.; her granddaughter, Chrystal (Sean Stokesberry) Callahan; and her great-granddaughter, Abigail Rose Stokesberry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Patrick W. Callahan; her daughter-in-law, Dustine Callahan; and her brother, Stephen K. Bruce.

When Bonny was homebound, she was well cared for by members of St. Cecilia Church. Her wishes were for any remembrances be given to St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Ave., Ames, IA 50010.
