OBITUARY

DEATH OF E. J. WALKER

Elbridge J. Walker, well-known carpenter of this city, died Wednesday evening at his home in this city. He had for a long time been in declining health, although he kept busy at his shop-work for a great part of the past winter. A few weeks ago he was taken more seriously ill, and since that time his decline had been more rapid and with little if any prospect of improvement. His death had come to be looked for at almost any time, and it occasioned little surprise when it came.

Mr. Walker was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Walker, and he was born at Darien, Wisconsin November 25, 1848. He came with his mother to Hampton, Iowa, in 1876, and he married Miss Ina Fifer in Nevada on December 28, 1881. They lived for several years at Hampton, then at Clarinda in this state and later for four year in South Dakota but they came to Nevada in 1891, and here has since been the family home. Mr. Walker was a capable carpenter and builder and a man of most worthy character, and for many years he ha been a esteemed member of this community. He laves his wife and two children, Mrs. Neva Mackey and Will A. Walker, also a sister Mrs. Mary E. Chappel, of Woonsocket, South Dakota. His nephew, Fred Chappel, of Sabor, Iowa, has been here for the past ten days, and other relatives who are here for the funeral are Mrs. Chappel, Mrs. Emma Armstrong of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Stella Kirk and Mr. W. R. Kirk of Indianola and Mr. and Mrs. V. P. Ray of Ackley. The funeral was conducted from the home at half past twelve today by Rev. Shaw, and the body was taken to Gilman, Marshall county, here it will be buried beside his parents.
