Rites Thursday for Ethwell Lee
Ethwell Lee, 90, Harrison Haven Nursing Home, Nevada, died at Mary Greeley Hospital Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Hanson of the Memorial Lutheran Church at Nevada officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Lee was born Oct. 13, 1882 in Cambridge. He spent most of his life in Story County. He was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church at Nevada. Mr. Lee was married to Florence Pearson, Jan. 14, 1903 at Elwell. She preceded him in death Jan. 11, 1938. Survivors include five sons, Harold of Aurora, Colo. Martin of Austin, Minn., Willard of Torrence, Calif., Robert of Maywood, Calif, and Calvin of Lakewood, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Alsin of Austin, Tex. and Mrs. Catherine Berg of Thornton, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Ballard of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Effie Wyeth of Omaha, Neb. and Mrs. Ella Barrow of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Effie; a brother; four sisters and a great-granddaughter. Friends may call at the Adams Funeral Home Wednesday and Thursday until the time of service.
