Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Kevin Douglas Holen was born on October 1, 1954, in Ames, Iowa to Frances (Christian) and Borg Holen. He grew up in Roland and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in transportation and logistics. Kevin worked in the transportation and logistics field for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, practical jokes, and spending time with his friends. Kevin was an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan and loved traveling to Mexico with his friends to sit in the sun and fish.

Kevin passed away December 26, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 62.

Kevin is survived by two sisters, Kristie (Bud) Truman of Ames and Deborah Holen of Tempe, AZ; three nieces, Greta (Keith) Truman, Shera (Nick) Dooley and Anna (Adam) Truman; two great nieces and a nephew, Ella Truman, Amelia Dooley, and Graham Truman; and his significant other Mary Bartusek.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Laura and Olaf Holen and Helen and John Christian.
