OBITUARY
Death of Mrs. Opstwedt
Mrs. Inger Opstwedt died at the home of her son Thomas north of Roland September 12, aged eighty years, five months and three days. She was married to Holvar Opstwedt in Norway and came with her husband to America in 1856, living about one year in Lee county, Illinois, coming to Story county, Iowa, in 1857, where she made her continuous residence until the time of death. Her husband died in 1880, since which time she made her home with her children, four of whom are living, Thomas, Sam and Severt of Roland and one daughter, Mrs. A. G. Anfinson near Randall. Aside from her own children she leaves eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was a woman, strong in the faith of the Christian religion, was a faithful member of Bergens church, and died knowing that her Redeemer liveth. The funeral was held at Bergens church Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Smedal.
We offer our most profound thanks to all our neighbors and friends that assisted us during the sickness and death of our beloved mother.--Thomas Opstwedt, Sam Opstwedt, Severt Opstwedt, Mrs. A. G. Anfinson.
