From Fredergill Family Funeral Home obituary, Collins and Zearing, Story County, Iowa:

Norma Gweneth Dobbs, 89, of Zearing, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Zearing Healthcare Center. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, Iowa. Her memorial service will follow the visitation at Bethany Lutheran Church and will begin at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Kathy Sandmann will officiate. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Norma was born in LaFarge, Wisconsin on January 26, 1927 to Charles and Mabel (Walden) Chesebro. She attended school in Valley, Wisconsin. On September 24, 1944, she married Mervin Dobbs. The couple had 7 children and raised them in Wisconsin and Iowa. Norma worked at Donnelley Marketing in Nevada, Iowa before retiring. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg. Norma had a great love for her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for large family gatherings. Family especially enjoyed her homemade pies. Over the years she also enjoyed operating a hobby/craft shop, quilting, sewing, painting, making rolls, and spending time with her pets, most especially her cat, Elizabeth (Misty).

Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children, Michael (Kathy) Dobbs, Deanne (Wayne) Stansbery, and Dean (Teri) Dobbs; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Buck and June (Gil) Singh; brother, Ray Chesebro; sister-in-law, Norma Buchli; brother-in-law, Arlie (Bonnie) Dobbs; daughters-in-law, Edna, Diane and Annabel; son-in-law, Arnie; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mervin; four children, Charlie Dobbs, Dick Dobbs, Terry Dobbs, and Pat Bjorklund; grandson, James Bjorklund; and sisters, Lorna, Dolores and Juanita.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Zearing Healthcare Center – Life Enrichment Fund.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing has been entrusted with the care of Norma and her family.
