Paul DeWayne Biddle, the son of Paul DeWayne “Wayne” Biddle and Inda (Nickeson) was born on November 21, 1938, at 937 N. Avenue in Nevada, Iowa. He passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016, at his home in Nevada. Paul grew up and attended school in Nevada. Paul was raised and baptized in the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church.
As a young man Paul had a zest for learning how to do things and excel at the task. He worked at the hotel as a waiter, mowed lawns, worked for farmers, worked for a bricklayer learning to lay bricks, he spent summers working in road construction as well as other jobs. Paul worked at Des Moines Steel, John Deere, Maxwell Locker & Grocery, Iowa Corn By-Products, Continental and Mid Equipment Corporation. Paul was an excellent welder and took classes to be an electrician. He had driven trucks throughout the Midwest states. He was hired as a foreman at Mid Equipment Corporation and soon was promoted to Plant Manager. At this time he initiated a program of hiring high school students to work afternoon shifts and start learning a trade. Paul had three shifts of men and two secretaries, he often created the original design and made the model to show at product shows. Then the engineers would draw up the plans.
Paul was athletic and excelled at any sport he participated in. At a young age he out boxed every kid his age and even boys four years older than he was. Finally he found no opponents who wanted to fight with him. Paul was a fisherman at an early age becoming a respected sportsman who enter many Bass Tournaments. Paul was known to be an excellent bowler and enjoyed advancing to State Tournaments with his team.
Paul was united in marriage to Claudia June Cade on February 28, 1957, in Des Moines. Iowa. They made their home in Colo, Maxwell and Nevada, Iowa.
Paul was preceded in death by his father; his mother; his sisters: Virginia Dodd, Thelma Biddle in infancy and Karen Holder.
Those left to honor Paul's memory are his wife, Claudia June of Nevada; his children: Adanga Fay(and Michael) Roush of Ames, Iowa, Jeffery Allen (and Jane) Biddle of Nevada, Iowa, and Jeannine Louise Biddle of Nevada, Iowa; his two grandsons, Jeffery Allen Biddle II of Nevada, Iowa and Justin Paul Biddle of Des Moines, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, former employees, friends and neighbors.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 12, at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ames, Iowa.
