Ardith "Art" Lee Jones, son of Carl Roy Jones and Dorothy Irene (Dean) Jones was born August 9, 1935 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Monday, August 1, 2016 at Israel Family Hospice in Ames, Iowa at 80 years of age.

Art grew up and has lived most of his life in Osceola. He was united in marriage to Carmen Colleen Sillman on August 24, 1953 at her parents' home in Des Moines and two sons, Kevin and Mark, blessed this union.

Art served in the U.S. Army from May, 1957 to March, 1959. He was a mechanic and welder, operating his own shop and working for Wilder's Truck Service for many years. He enjoyed camping and fishing, his great joy was spending time with his grandsons and following their activities. When the grandsons moved with their parents to Nevada, Iowa, Art and Carmen followed so they could be close.

Those relatives who preceded Art in death were his loving wife Carmen, parents, Carl and Dorothy Jones, sisters, Joann Root and Georgia Carson, brothers, Ronnie, Ken, and Harold Jones.

Art leaves to cherish his memory; son, Kevin Jones of Des Moines, IA, son, Mark (Stephanie) Jones of Nevada, IA, grandsons, Tanner, Corbin and Logan Jones, sisters-in-law, Janice Jones of Indianola, IA and Luella Jones of Osceola, IA, as well as other relatives and many friends.
