Phyllis M. Harper, 88, of Nevada, formerly of Colo, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Windsor Manor in Nevada.

Phyllis was born in Lewis, Iowa May 30, 1928, the daughter of Frank and Ila (Reynolds) Robinson. She graduated from Lewis High School and attended Simpson College. On June 9, 1950, Phyllis was united in marriage to Joe Harper in Lewis, Iowa. Phyllis was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church, the W.O. Club, Priscilla Bridge Club and Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She had served as the Story County Porkettes President and as a 4-H leader for the New Albany Country Pioneers.

Phyllis enjoyed flowers and gardening. Above all, she loved being with her family.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joe of Nevada; her son, Doug (Becki) Harper of Oconomowoc, WI; her daughters: Barbara (Joel) Johnson of Knoxville and Linda (Mark) Boshart of Mt. Pleasant; her brothers: John Robinson of Atlantic and Leo (Arlene) Robinson of Griswold; her sisters: Helen Erickson of Griswold and Ruth Fiegenbutz of Oakland; her grandchildren: Haley (Tim) Schmidt, Hyatt (Melanie) Harper, Riley (Megan) Harper, Marcus (Lori) Johnson, Kelly (Mike) Hadfield, Brian Johnson, Katie (Chris) Noll and Amy (John) Tyson; her great-grandchildren: Viola, Julia and Henry Schmidt, Ryan and Jared Story, Emily Knouse, Jacob and Matthew Hadfield, Bailey Johnson, Ethan, Andrew and Lydia Noll and Levi Tyson.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Boyd Robinson; a sister, Jean Burnham; and two great-grandchildren: Jonathan and Grace Johnson.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, September 3 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 4 at the Colo United Methodist Church in Colo with Pastor Russ Burnett officiating, assisted by Pastor Doug Harper. Burial will follow in the Colo Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of South Central Wisconsin or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
