Obituary From Boeke Funeral Homes, Hardin County, Iowa.

Judith (Judy) Lee Eller was greeted at Heaven's Gates by our Heavenly Father on August 30, 2016 at the age of 76.

Judy was born to E.C. (Nick) Carter and Eloise (Gray) Carter on July 19th, 1940 in Red Bluff, CA. While her Dad was in the Army, she and her Mom lived in Marion, AL. When he returned they resided in Red Bluff & Chico, CA. After high school she attended Chico State for 2 years then the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA where she received her Bachelor's degree in Education. After graduating she taught school in Davis, CA. Through a series of events she left for Frankfurt, Germany to teach military children for the U.S.

This is where the city gal from CA collided with the farm boy from IA. Their love story is of the truest, most enduring kind. It is unique in every way, but it also epitomizes the meaning of "happily ever after". The tall handsome enlisted soldier goes to the movies and chapel with the beautiful tall teacher. After dating for only a short period of time and only one visit to each other's home towns, they were married in Chico, CA on December 4th, 1965 and then returned to Richard's family farm in Hubbard, IA where they lived and raised their 2 children for 41 years. In 2006 Richard and Judy moved to Ames, IA.

Judy taught school in both Hubbard and Radcliffe Schools and was the president of AGLOW Christian Women's Organization. After having her children, she took some time off from teaching, but went back as a teacher for the Talented and Gifted. In 1999 she retired as a teacher. Her colleges knew her as being creative, passionate about reading, very classy and fashionable.

Judy was never ending in praying for others and cared deeply for those around her. Her words, through written note or spoken, touched many lives. It didn't matter where she saw you, there was never a place that it wasn't appropriate to say a prayer for you.

In 1998 Judy started battling cancer. She was tenacious in her prayer and supported by family and friends. She long exceeded her doctor's expectation of life.

Judy is survived by her husband Richard; daughter Lisa (Jeff) Severseike of Hubbard; son, Matt (Lynn) Eller of Ames; her grandchildren; Trent, Justin, Cole & Nick Severseike; Jake, Gage, Lauren & Annalissa Eller and her brothers Gene (Cheryl) Carter & Bill (Barbara) Carter along with her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father and mother E.C and Eloise Carter.
