Obituary
Lars B. Larson was born at Sovde, Norway, April 15, 1834, and died at the home here on the 5th day of March, 1919, having attained the age of 84 years, 10 months and 15 days at the time of his death.
He was married to Miss Mary Flygstad in 1863, and in the following year they journeyed to America, coming to Illinois where they continued to make their residence on a farm for a period of two years. Then in company with several other families, they came to Iowa, settling on a farm two and one half miles west of Roland. His wife died on the 10th of Feb. 1911. In 1916 he moved to Roland, where he has since made his home.
He leaves to mourn his loss, one daughter, Lena Bakka, six sons, L. L. Bakka of this city; Cornelius B. Larson of Wallingford; Martin B. Larson, Boulder, Colo.; Lewis B. and Nels O. Larson and Knut B. Larson all of Dickey, N. Dak.
The funeral services were held from Bergens church on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Smedal, his pastor officiating. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery.
