AGED RESIDENT PASSED AWAY
Andrew O Hereim, one of the honored and influential residents of this community, passed peacefully away at his home in the south part of town, Feb. 23. Funeral services wre held today in Bergen church by Rev. Smedal, and the remains were interred in the Roland cemetery.
Mr. Hereim was born in Seyde, Norway, August 23, 1838, where his childhood days were spent. He was married to Osa Orthun on the 7th of November, 1868, and to this union seven children were born, of which only three are living, namely, Tom, Andrew and Mrs. Christ Hall. In the year 1870 they immigrated to this country and came directly to Story County. They settled on the Erick Evans farm and lived there for three years when they moved to a farm 5 1/2 miles south of town where they spent 28 years. In the year 1893, they moved to Roland where they have since resided until Mr. Hereim was called from this life by the angel of death.
He has always been a faithful member of Salem's church, ever stood for the highest and best in the community and has lived a modest, hardworking, sincere life.
