Colo, Nov 26-The funeral of the late Mrs John Lounsbury whose death occurred on Saturday morning was held from the Methodist church in this city this morning at 10:00 after which interment was in the Colo cemetery. The services were attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends attesting the high esteem in which she had been held in the community.
Mrs Lounsbury was born Ethel, the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs T.M. Smith of this community, on October 29, 1887 and departed this life at her home northwest of the city on Nov 22, 1919.
She grew to young womanhood in this community graduating from the Colo schools and taught school for a year before her marriage.
She was united in marriage Feb 24, 1909 to John Lounsbury. To this union of love was born six children, three boys and three girls-Irene, Gladys, Woodrow, John Jr., Vernon and Annabel. Each of the children and her husband live to mourn her loss.
In her sickness and in order to save her life, it was necessary for her to submit to an operation for appendicitis. Even to this, she never complained, but was cheerful and fearless, thiking only of others instead of her own danger. Death relieved her suffering early Saturday. She had only reached the age of 32 years, and 24 days, but her life was such that others have become better because she lived.
Those who mourn her loss are her father and mother, Mr and Mrs T.M. Smith, two brothers, Rueban of Cedar Rapids, Ia and Oakley of Toledo, Iowa, one sister, Mrs Annabel Danskin of Colo, IA and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church by Rev. W.C. McKinley from the words, "As we have born the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heart.
