Rites Tuesday for Mrs. Thomas

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence A. Thomas, 88, 1326 Douglas Ave., will be held here Tuesday.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Adams Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Harryman of First Methodist Church officiating. Burial is to be in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas died about 4 p.m. Friday at the home of daughter, Mrs. Carl Briley. Survivors, in addition to Mrs. Briley, include a son Byron Thomas, of Boone, two grandchildren and thre great grandchildren.

Born in Story County, Mrs. Thomas had lived in the Napier area most of her life. She was a member of the Napier Methodist Church and the WCTU.

Her husband, Logan, preceded her in death in November, 1908. Two brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

MRS FLORENCE THOMAS

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Thomas, 88, were hled Tuesday June 18 with the Rev. Harold Harryman of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery in Boone County.

Florence A. Walker Thomas was born in Boone County March 31, 1873 and died June 14.

Her parents, Melissa and John Walker, were pioneers who came to Iowa from Illinois in a covered wagon. Her parents, four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

She attended Norma Training School and taught in a country school. She was united in marriage to Logan B. Thomas, in December, 1892. Except for nine years spent in North Dakota on a homestead they made their home on a farm in Boone County.

To this union were born two children, a daughter, Mrs. Opal Briley of Ames and a son Byron of Boone County. They survive. Also surviving are two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death November, 1908.

Mrs. Thomas was long time member of the Napier Methodist Church and the W.C.T.U.
