OBITUARY OF FRANKLIN P. THOMAS
Funeral services for Franklin P Thomas were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Central Presbyterian church in Nevada and interment was n the Summit cemetery south of this city.
Mr. Thomas was born in Indiana on September 17, 1853 and was united in marriage with Achsah D. Hill of near McCallsburg on June 3, 1880. Eight children were born to this union, of whom three, Jacob, Viola and Gertrude preceded him in death. The other surviving children are Walter C., William L., Charles S., of Nevada, Herman R., of Zearing and Hannah of Nevada.
All of his 46 years of married life were spent in Story county with the exception of four years when he lived near Union, and seven years at Miltonville, Ia.
He is survived also by two brothers and two sisters while four brothers and two sisters have preceded him in death.
Relatives from out of town who were here for the funeral were Mrs. Asa Griffith of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs A. T. Hill of Royal, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hill of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Hill and daughter of Grand Meadow, Minn., C. W. Mitchell of Riverton, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Logan of Des Moines, Mrs. Ethel Logan of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Will Thomas, Mr. Sherm and Orvin Griffith and Mrs. Mary Confare of Ames.
