Death This Morning Of Mrs. E. E. Sowers, 76

AMES -- Mrs. E. E. Sowers, (Laura), 76, of 1012 Marston St., Ames, died this morning at 4:30 at the Mary Greeley hospital, where she had been a patient since November 3. The cause of death was cancer, she had been ill for one year.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 21, 2 o'clock p.m. from the Congregational church in Ames with Rev. W. Murray Allen of the Congregational church, officiating. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Adams Funeral home in Ames until time of the services.

Mrs. Sowers was born June 27, 1875, at Springfield, Wisconsin and taught school in Des Moines prior to her marriage to T. J. Kyle, December 25, 1901, in Des Moines. She had been a resident of Story county since 1901. Mr. Kyle died April 26, 1933.

July 5, 1939, she was married to E. E. Sowers at Nevada. She was a member of the Congregational church, Eastern Star and the W. H. B. club.

She is survived by her husband, E. E. Sowers, two sons, Harvey Kyle and George Kyle both of Ames; two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Baird of Omaha, Nebr., and Mrs. C. W. Gieser of Tecumseh, Nebr.; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
