Roger L. Huisinga, 70, died suddenly on June 20, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center North in Mason City, Iowa. A private family service was held at the Slater United Methodist Church in Slater.
Roger was born on November 16, 1945 to Harm and Esther (Tapper) Huisinga in Buffalo Center, Iowa. He married Janet Hamilton and to this union two children were born. Roger served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Roger owned and operated a construction, design, and engineering firm, and in his spare time loved to camp, fish, travel, and complete his 'to-do-lists'. He especially loved his family and grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his wife, Janet Huisinga of Mesa, Arizona; his son, Scott (Maureen) Huisinga of Slater; his daughter, Amber (Ray) Franks of Elko, Nevada; five grandchildren, Emily, Kate, Rachel, Daughtry and Tinley; and his sister, Maxine Griffin of Peoria, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Edith.
A memorial has been established in his name.
