The Record* of March 11th announces the death of Lars A. Britson, one of Roland's leading citizens and business men. His death occurred on March 6th. He was born in Norway April 2, 1857* and came to the country in 1880 an d located first at Story City and in 1890 removed to Roland. He leaves a large family and numerous friends to mourn and regret his passing.

The Record also announces the death of another of the worthy citizens of its vicinity, Mrs. T. O. Wicks, was a native of Norway.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "The Record" refers to the Roland Record, newspaper for Roland, Iowa. This article give Lars Britson's date of birth as 1857 but his headstone says 1856.
