OBITUARY

Amelia Ann Bates was born in Livingston, Mich., on November 23, 1859, and died at her home in Nevada June 21, 1919.

She had suffered with asthma for many years but her death resulted from a stroke of apoplexy, from which she never regained consciousness. She was united in marriage to Joseph N. Grose in Williams County, Ohio, March 17, 1890. They lived there till the year 1894, when they moved to Iowa. They lived at different places until 1910, when they moved to Nevada and this has been their home since.

To this union were born two children, one son, Harvey of Muscatine, Iowa, and one daughter, Edna May, of Nevada.

The husband and children were present at the time of her death. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn, two brothers and one sister, Alvin Bates, of Cambridge, Samuel Bates, of Cambridge, Mrs. Hattie Bachman, of Fayette Ohio, and other relatives and friends.

She was a kind and loving wife and mother, always administering to the needs of the family and the home.

She confessed her faith in Christ several years ago but because of poor health was not privileged to attend church services in later years.
