JOSEPH WEST

Funeral services for Joseph West were held from Bethesda Lutheran Church, Jewell, July 27 with the Rev. A. J. Bringle of Story City officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Anderson, Irvin Lund, Charles Kammin, William Chelma, Sam Berg and Wilber Sowers.

Born on a farm near Story City, Jan. 25, 1885, he was married to Isabell Sansgaard in 1903. They had six children. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil Bickelhaupt, Story City, and Mrs. Milford Handeland, Ames; two sons, Floyd, Story City, and Alfred, Ames; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Martin Teig, Stanhope, and Elsie West, Glendale, Cal., and one brother, Henry, Story City. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence, a son, Morrell, a grandchild and one great-grandchild.
