Carmen Colleen Jones, daughter of E. Claire Sillman and Hazel Marie (McVey) Sillman was born March 16, 1936 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa at 80 years of age.

Carmen grew up in Osceola and attended Osceola schools. She was united in marriage to Ardith Jones on August 24, 1953 at her parents’ home in Des Moines and two sons, Kevin and Mark, blessed this union.

Carmen was a hard worker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and spending time with her family was a great joy. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, collecting bears, baskets, owls and barn pictures. She enjoyed cooking and baking and especially liked feeding friends and family who visited. She also enjoyed reading and going to garage sales.

Those relatives who preceded Carmen in death were her parents, E. Claire and Hazel Sillman; brother, Clifford (Duane) Sillman and her sister-in-law, Arlita Sillman.

Carmen leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Art Jones of Nevada, IA; son, Kevin Jones of Des Moines, IA; son, Mark (Stephanie) Jones of Nevada, IA; grandchildren, Tanner, Corbin and Logan Jones all of Nevada, IA; as well as other relatives and many friends.
