Laurie Ann Wilimek was born on September 10, 1969, in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin Stowe and Vicky (McQuiston) Miller. Laurie graduated from Nevada High School in 1987. She also graduated from Hawkeye Community College with multiple degrees. On April 7, 2001, Laurie was united in marriage to Brian Wilimek in Reinbeck. She enjoyed watching TV, sewing, scrapbooking, cooking, and taking care of her kids and grandkids. Laurie died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the age of 46 at her home in Traer. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Stowe; her step father, Pete Miller; and an aunt, Kathy Fricke. Laurie is survived by her husband, Brian of Traer; her mother, Vicky Miller of Elkmont, Alabama; a daughter, Shyla (Erik) Lampley of Bon Aqua, Tennessee; a son, Remington Wilimek of Traer; three grandchildren, Duane Jr., Giovanni, and Gavyn Lampley; and a brother, Matt (Nicole) Miller of Elkmont, Alabama.

There will be a memorial gathering in Laurie’s honor on Friday, April 8, 2016, at the North Tama Activity Center in Traer from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.
