Obituary from Bailey-Howard Funeral Home, Clyde, Texas:

Kenneth Anfenson, 93, of Clyde, died Thursday, February 4, 2016, at a Baird nursing center. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Patrick Voice officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at the Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Abilene. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born October 23, 1922, in Story County, Iowa, to Howard and Cordelia (Friel) Anfenson. He graduated from Ames High School in Ames, Iowa. After high school, he was a pilot in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.

After the war, he worked as a diesel mechanic and later a truck driver, having last worked for Abtex Bottling Company in Abilene. Kenneth moved to Texas from Los Angeles, California, in the late 1960’s, and moved to Clyde from Mesquite in 1980. He was very active in the Clyde Senior Center.

Kenneth is survived by one daughter, Sarah Vaughn and husband Rusty of Lawn; three grandchildren, Angela Janders and husband Donny of Clyde, Jeffrey Pugh of Lawn and Steven Perkovich and wife Dawn of Clyde; two sisters, Beatrice Markley of Ames, Iowa, and Donna Kay Simpson of Oklahoma City; seven great-grandchildren, Amber Collins of Lubbock, Jonathan Collins of Clyde, Wesley Pugh of Lawn, Taylor Saverese and husband Johnathan of Clyde, Nathan Harris of Clyde and Kenneth Perkovich of Brownwood; and one great-great-grandchild, Wyatt Saverese of Clyde.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and infant Wesley; and two sisters, Marie Fisher and infant Selma.
