From Nevada Representative March 25, 1891

Colo.

This week we have three deaths to record from this locality, which does not often occur in one week's writing from so small a community as this; and it is hoped the writer will be spared the sorrowful task of like character for a long time come. The first one claimed by the dark messenger was Mr. Ben Ward, on March 17th, and the remains were buried in the Colo cemetery March 19th, Rev. A. W. Gilchrist preaching the funeral sermon. Mr. Ward was left a widower a number of years ago with several children all of whom are now grown. About eight years ago he married Mrs. Dailey who now survives him and who tenderly cared for him during his long illness. The next one to answer to the call from the unknown beyond was Mrs. M. L. Carmody. After a protracted illness she died March 19th and was buried in the Catholic cemetery March 21st, Rev. Father McNamara conducting the services. Her husband and three grown sons and one daughter are left to mourn her loss. On the day of Mrs. Carmody's funeral Mrs. Jenning's spirit also departed, and the remains were buried in the Colo cemetery March 23rd, Rev. A. W. Gilchrist preaching the funeral sermon. Mrs. Jennings was left a childless widow nine or ten years ago, but leaves more distant relatives to mourn her loss. All three of the deceased were well known and respected citizens and the community feels their loss and sympathizes with the bereaved relatives.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Benjamin Ward married Elizabeth (Harding) Dailey on 1 January 1884 in Story County, Iowa. Elizabeth (Harding) Dailey was the widow of John N. Dailey/Daily.
