Evelyn (Schuler) Loots, 88, of Ames, moved to the light, from the mystery of Alzheimers on December 8, 2015 surrounded by family at the Heartwood House in Ames. A service will be held at a later date.

Evelyn was born January 10, 1927 to Wilbert and Amelia Schuler. She married Norman Loots on December 10, 1948 in State Center, Iowa. The couple lived in Fort Dodge and Marshalltown and in 1967 moved to Ames, where they lived ever since. Norman and Evelyn enjoyed traveling and spent their winters in Arizona. She worked many years as a Registered Nurse at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames and was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church.

Evelyn is survived by her children; Dennis (Deb) Loots, Larry (Debra) Loots, Barb (Gary) Modlin, and Jeff (Charlotte) Loots; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters; Helen Bryant and Elaine Gray.

Her husband preceded her in death on November 29, 1995. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
