From Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care obituary, Ames, Story County, Iowa:

Margaret Irene Arrasmith, age 89, died December 4, 2015 in her home. No services are being planned at this time.

She was born September 23, 1926 in Galesburg, Illinois to Giles S. and Clara E. (Orwig) Sailer. She married David G. Arrasmith on August 28, 1948 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death May 3, 2014.

Margaret graduated from Avon High School in May 1944 and entered Michael Reese School of Nursing in Chicago for a 3-year course in Nursing. She graduated and received her Illinois Registered Nurse Degree in September 1947. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Iowa most of her adult years, completing them as a school nurse with Cedar Falls Community Schools for 26 years.

When her husband had a massive heart attack in 1986 and was forced to retire, she also retired to enjoy the rest of their lives together. They loved the outdoors and spent winters covering the southern states in their motor home and summers in Canada, fishing. Spring and autumn were spent at home in Iowa until old age and a dead motor home, kept them close to home.

Margaret is survived by one son, John D. Arrasmith and his wife (Jayneen) of Cedar Falls; two daughters; Lael E. Arrasmith of Ames, and Sue and her husband Gerard (Rod) Roman of South Whitley, Indiana. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Joel, Justin, and Jenna Roman, Joshua Lindquist, and Leah Thompson and twelve great-grandchildren. She is survived by one brother, William J. Sailer, three sisters; Dorothy G. Yates, J. Diane Ashbaker, and Nancy L. Sailer.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Cynthia R. Buskirk, and brothers; Giles Sailer Jr., and Paul T. Sailer.
