Betty J. Wilson was born on December 20, 1922 to Hazel (Vannice) Ward in Indiana. She married Edwin Wilson on March 23, 1946. He died June 14, 2002. Betty and Edwin lived on the family farm in Indiana from 1958 until moving to Story City in 1992. She enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with the ladies. But most important to her was her family.

Betty passed away January 12, 2016 at Bethany Manor in Story City, Iowa at 93 years of age.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Janet Mitchell of Story City; her son, John (Julie) Wilson of Story City; five grandchildren, Brian Bridwell, Laura Bridwell, Travis Wilson, Megan Rassmusson and Michael Shields; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Donis Keffer, Rose Halloway and Beverly (George) High.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Edwin; five brothers, Don, Jack, Larry, Phil and Harry; and two sisters, Mary Jo and Dean.
