From Nevada Representative January 14, 1891
Maxwell.
This community was startled on Saturday morning, 3rd inst., when it was announced a dispatch had been received that John Serbin had been found dead in his bed in St. Joe, Mo. He had left home about two weeks before, and the family were expecting him home every day. The news of his death was a severe shock to them. The body arrived on Monday evening, and the funeral took place on Tuesday forenoon from the C. P. church, Rev. Ferguson conducting the service, assisted by the other ministers of the town. Mr. Serbin came from Nevada to this place some four years ago and was engaged in the bakery and confectionery business. A few weeks since he started on a trip west and died suddenly in St. Joe, Mo. He leaves a wife and five children, who have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.....
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The deceased was John Serbein, not "Serbin" as stated.
